I like that the first Brooklyn snowfall paired with my first trip to Blue Bottle Coffee. It’s a really nice combination.

I really like The Killers album Day & Age.
It came out over two years ago but it’s an album I find myself listening to sometimes. When I do listen it’s almost always the entirety of the album. It has a fantastic, almost ethereal sound. The first time I listened to it I knew it was an album that clicked with me.
The World We Live In is a nice tune at the tail end of the album.
There are a lot of things I like about this video. I’m digging the retro 50’s space suits and production design as well as the cinematography.
The shot at 1:19 is a beauty.

Android mini-review: so many yays! one GIANT nay
So I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3g to the new HTC Inspire on AT&T.
Android is fantastic— it’s a great operating system that offers a high level of customization for the user. There are so many things it does well. I could totally jump from the iOS I’ve used for the past two years to this.
However: this is probably due to both the device and android OS, but the power management is horrendous. There are so many running processes that occur at all times and even with a task killer they will pop up and reoccur. I’ve turned off background data, GPS, wi-fi, killed applications repeatedly, etc and the battery is at a measly 29%. I imagine this isn’t representative of all Android devices— but it isn’t the best sign either of how the OS handles power consumption.
My two year old iPhone 3g battery lasts nearly twice as long as this.
I’m going to give it a fair chance over the weekend, but if this continues into Monday I’ll be shipping it back to Amazon.
Please explain to me what a “sortz” is.

When I get stressed out or think too much I walk out to the hallway of my office and look outside. There’s an entire city out there. Stuff works out and getting worked up over things that are fundamentally beyond my control isn’t healthy. But I find my mind wandering at times and it’s tough to stop. Just breathe, right?
